The relationship between the chakras and the sefirot
The chakras
Centres of power of the universe. Vortices of power of the key ideas of the visible world in every living being. In our age, higher transformative activity can receive energy only through these centres, and the purification of forces arising from the depths is possible only through them. The chakras form seven flower-like primary centres of power in the astral body.
The word chakra is Sanskrit and means “wheel”. Its symbol is used in many senses, such as the wheel of fate, fortune, life and death, and so on.
SUPPLEMENTARY BACKGROUND INFORMATION
Different teachings present the chakras in different ways, so a great deal of information can be found about them. In the teachings of Gnosis, the chakras also appear as “sacred discs”.
The chakras are psycho-noetic centres in the body: emotional and mental centres through which we receive, release and use energy. This page does not explore the different chakra teachings in detail, because here we focus primarily on the mental spheres described in Kabbalah, the sefirot. These are closely connected with the functioning of the chakras and negative elementals.
The sefirot
The sefirot and the chakras are essentially identical. The only difference between them is that the chakras operate in the astral body, while the ten sefirot operate in the mental body.
SUPPLEMENTARY BACKGROUND INFORMATION
In the system of the book, the chakras are connected primarily with the astral plane, the emotional world, while the sefirot are connected with the mental plane, the world of thought.
Alongside the ten visible sefirot, Daʿat appears as the hidden sefira, the gate of knowledge. Other Kabbalistic perspectives may speak of additional sefirot or different arrangements. On this page, we preserve the teachings of the book, together with the knowledge and systems I learned from masters and teachers. Our aim is not to mix different systems or present every perspective in detail. The emphasis is on authenticity, clarity and enabling people to work with the presented qualities in practice.
